I was listening to the radio on my way to work this morning, when I heard this little gem of a story.

Apparently, some dude in Georgia has decided that he’s going to start a new basketball league.  Its players will be limited to natural born US citizens who have two Caucasian parents.

I’m not even kidding.

What..does…that…even…mean…for BASKETBALL?  He claims that white dudes are in the minority now (they’re not) and that they should get their own league (they shouldn’t), so that they can just play fundamentals (which no one wants to see).

A quote from Mr. Don “Moose” Lewis (stolen outrightly from FanIQ):

There’s nothing hatred about what we’re doing. I don’t hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now. Here’s a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like. Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch? That’s the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction.

I know what you’re thinking.  But really, he’s not racist.  He said so.

What do you guys think about the prospect of an only-Caucasians-allowed basketball league?  And what’s next?  Only natural born US citizens hockey league?  THAT will be a snooze-fest.
